May 2024

The Chinook fishing, although catch and release, has remained excellent. Most of our charters have been hooking into several good size, chinook and smaller coho.

May 1 is the opener for Ling cod and rock fish which we can explore on our 10 hour Gulf Island trips.

June 1 is the opener for hatchery marked salmon as well.

Now is a great time if you’re looking for an active, catch and release fishing trip with your friends or family.

We have extended our Spring 6 Hour catch & release charter special until June 1. $800+GST for up to 4 anglers

We are anticipating a great spring ahead for chinook and coho fishing if the numbers currently are an indication of what’s to come.

Crab fishing has been below average this winter but the numbers are increasing slowly. Overfishing by local First Nations crab fishers over the last 5 years is the reason. Prawn fishing has been productive on our 8 hour trips.

It’s coho time!!

June 2023

It remains to be excellent chinook salmon fishing and now we are starting to see good coho action as well. This means June and July are shaping up to be excellent salmon fishing here and local waters. We tend to fish a little bit shallower for coho which can make for explosive bites and some acrobatic coho jumps. Although the fishing for chinook is still ‘catch and release’ the action has been very good

We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will see some retention opportunities this summer. Coho salmon should be arriving in the area in June and July which will allow for some retention opportunities

Crab fishing has unfortunately been below average due to overfishing by local First Nations fishers. Prawn fishing has been productive on our 8 hour trips.

Excellent chinook salmon fishing

May, 2023

It’s been amazing chinook salmon fishing all of May. We are anticipating more excellent chinook fishing all summer. Several of our trips lately have been into over 25 Chinook per trip. Although the fishing is ‘catch and release’ only the excitement has been out of this world.

We are keeping our fingers crossed that we will see some retention opportunities this summer. Coho salmon should be arriving in the area in June and July which will allow for some retention opportunities.

We are fishing quite shallow at depths between 40 and 100 feet which makes for explosive hits by these aggressive fish. A variety of 3 and 4 inch spoons behind flashers has been extremely productive.

Crab fishing has unfortunately been below average due to overfishing by local first nations. Prawn fishing has been productive on our 8 hour trips.
